Gentlemen...this games been goin on forever in this industry. You gotta be working for the Prime b4 you can make Mama happy at the house. Anyone taking a wage like that says a lot about them if ALL the details are considered.
Take for example the guys in N. Dakota punching the oil wells. The Co. provides housing, right? Yup. 5 guys to a fifth wheel trailer for 12 hours off shift. Another 5 when your at work on YOUR 12 hr. shift. Sound good yet? Remember, this is all for that 20 per hr. wage.
Your 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off. Now your wage is about 10 per hour. Sound good yet? Dont forget, now instead of 10 dudes in a 5th wheel camper, it's doubled!
The food is sky high due to the MASSIVE influx of fresh money waiting to be spent locally. The Gold Rush didn't make everyone rich, but the merchants sure did fleece alot of pockets!
Now then, your gonna be sleeping in a camper, free no doubt. With 4 other guy's farting, snoring, stinky feet, crabs, lice, ect. Some of 'em wont shower and as always they'll be coming in at weird hours cause they went to town to drink their dinner and want to complain about "Chubby" in the top bunk getting up all night to take a piss, therefore letting the heat out of the can of FUNK!!
