Many people have likely had convicted felons handle their car keys, and even possibly had some into their home without even knowing it.
Apparently, there is no such thing as paying for your crime (as in serving time) anymore. About every criminal cinviction is a life sentence now days, no matter what the offense is. I'd like to stress that the emphisis is on convicted. Hell, we have a felon in the white house, but he's never been "convicted", so I guess most of society thinks that's ok!
And no, I'm not a felon, lol.
I'm not condoning it, but I'm never surprised when criminals return to crime. Hell, thay can't get hired virtually anywhere, even with minor offenses. Employers doors are likely shut even when there is only minor criminal activity on their record, and even for things that were completely legal in America's past.
What percent of people have broken the drug laws or DUI laws in this country but never got caught? What a bunch of hippocrates most people are!
Now, one can always become the head cheese, as Baker Cap pointed out. Likely won't matter then if your a 10 time convicted child molester. Kind of amusing in a sad sort of way....
Maybe there's a correlation between that thought in the preceding paragraph and so many contractors not paying their help?!?!
What a country!
