Hello again, I was not clear on the first question.
first, you cannot sweep to 1 Ghz through a 550 active. I have been asked to check the cable for faults, Its a very persnickity town for getting permission to replace UG cables.
It was suggested you could inject at each active output test point and go tap to tap and check each span. Move the portable sweep to the next active output and check each span.
I do not think the sweep will get onto the cable through a direction output test point. So how do you insert the sweep on the output of a active?
I was hoping someone had tried inserting with a test probe on a tap ( at the set screw) etc.
I have not tried it.
TDR will work but I do not have one on site, I do have a portable stealth TX.
I will be doing some field test on Monday, though if someone had already been down this road it would be helpfull.
I do beleive this is what this forem is about.
Sincrely, still learning..
