Re: To Stay in the Industry or Move On?


I think the work for the most part is enjoyable and relaxing.  There are areas I won't get involved in anymore.  It is not about the physical work, but the pay.  Then you also have companies that want to treat you like an employee and not an independent contractor.

I guess I have gotten too used to making my own schedule.  Otherwise it can be a lot of fun!
For instance I kinda enjoy service work.  You never know what your gonna have.  I don't like the TV side that they pay you a flat rate for service.  Other areas pay you to show up then per hour. 

Installs you get to decide and persuway they customer why that way is the best.  Of course you get input from them too for conciterations. 

In reality the best thing is being able to look at a problem, and know there are 100 different ways to do the same job, and the choice is mostly yours.  Custom work always added on another challenge, didn't have to do it, but if you did you made cash money.
