The internal battery in the Wavetek is soldered to the board. We have had a little luck with getting the old one out and replacing it, but it is a real pain to do. Messed up a couple of meters trying before there was success, because of the size of the battery it is real easy to burn the board. If you only have a couple of meters you would be better off sending them to a company that does this, there is a company called DIGITRACE out of the midwest that does this, I'm sure there are a few more that do it also.
