Re: updated bid form.

Forget the package form bid proposal or what they call a RFP (request for proposal)   Send out notice to those companies that you would like to deal with, state a date for a walk out of the project, show them ALL "Exactly" what you want,  let them submit a bid to you on there forms only with a stupulation .....They must quote a not to exceed Dollar amount along with start date and completion date- pending inclement weather..  That way you can quickly deal with those that are close to your budget.  Throw out the high and the low, deal with the rest...get it down to 2 contractors, pull them in for a final "firm" quote.   They show be within somewhat same dollar amount,  go with the higher bidder.  Also make a statement that field changes will not be accepted as they all did a walk out of the job.  It they don't show up for walk thru...they don't bid the job.
