I came to like the lein idea,...............like everything the situation varies from state to state..................SEE THE ABOVE THREAD................wimpie has some insights..............but my discovery here in MD is that the amount in question has to be above a certain value / % of the house value. There are other considerations like a written contract and the Home Improvement Department. My view id who cares...a homeowner who has ordered and paid for a SAT installation does not deserve to be sued or their property jeopardized. So when they get a letter informing about the intention to file the lein..............they will be pissed and will call the SAT company.........which is what you want...........you want to put some heat on the powers that be (running the sat company).........to get you paid.....................The never working for Directv or DISH ever again......that is a good thing!...............Joe
