no not armored , copper shield , solid dialetric , and jacketed outside, what would happen with this cable is the copper shield would break or disintegrate from water corrosion so you had to make sure every active was grounded, if not you would have low voltage and poor response. you didn't core it either, it was like putting on a drop connector. Once you got the feel for cutting into the dailetric you could put a connector on in seconds.
