Re: Stopping work through a Mastec Tech Number

You should be able to find out if your still being routed through your tech # pretty easy, call the dispatch office, give them your tech# , and they can see if your routed, its just like acknowledging your route in rio. If you are still be assigned work, then the company is ghosting your tech#, mastec frowns against that, they have been known to shut down companies for that reason. Now for your checks and their equipment: Do not hold equipment hostage, that will not get you paid, the equipment is owned, not by the contractor you worked for, but by DirecTV, depending on the amount of equipment, you can be charged with theft, plus you will have a stronger position with the court if it goes that far for getting your money. As for getting your money, I would send a demand letter (Certified mail) to the company demanding payment, send a copy of this demand letter to Mastec offices if you can, make sure you have all your records straight as to how much they owe you, after 10 days, if you have not received any information, I would then submit a small claims lawsuit. Now you have some Ammo, you have returned their equipment, and you have attempted to contact them for payment, giving them ample time to respond and pay you, now when/if it does to go small claims court, you have a paper trail, and you can explain that you have made several attempts to settle this issue, but the other party has not. Also look at your contract, if you have an arbitration clause, you may have to go that route first, prior to small claims court.
Never argue with idiots, they'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience
