I think the question is more about the input testpoint, on the older ISX2 and ISX3 node boards. The input testpoint requires the TPA-2 testpoint adapter. Using an F81 barrel is essentially double-seizing to the signal path, causing impedence mismatches and inaccurate readings.
The newer 3030 and 3040 series nodes have the built-in -20dB testpoints in the board.
