Used to fish the Allegheney river right where it meets the Monongahela river to form the Ohio river. Lots of 40 pound flatheads and channel cats. Also believe it or not 20 pound striped bass, used to catch em all day long on mister twister sassy shads smoke color. If not that a ordinary silver spoon also worked really well if the watertemp was a little cold still. In early spring stink bait worked well like just after the ice melted.
 
Fishing over here is night and day, just cant catch on to the way these people do it.  They have a bait basket bout 1 inch round and 2 inches long that they fill with tiny frozen shrimp, you buy them frozen in a block from a bait store and use a tiny ice cream scoop to fill up your bait basket. Tied under the bait basket are small hooks that have small plastic shrimp molded on top of them to resemble the shrimp that are in the bait basket. then you cast out wait about 15 min real back in fill up the bait basket again and repeat.....
