Lets not forget the people who dont know shit about cable and want to be the system manager just because they did this or that in the military and since now they are getting out and want to stay in the area think they are qualified to do the job. I have got and have had peolpe tell me "I am an electrician" and apply for a job as an installer or technician or even come in and apply for my job. The first thing I do is give them a peice of cable, a prep tool, fitting and a pair of crimpers, then I show them how to put on a connector. 9 out of 10 people I have seen cant put one on correct so I tell them thanks but no thanks. I am not saying cable is a hard gig to get into but I get pissed when people try to downplay what it is we do. On some level I think you have to have some brain cells to troubleshoot plant be it forward or reverse. The last "electrical engineer" I had the displeasure to work with taught me one important lesson.... YOU CAN TRUELY BUY ANYTHING IN THE PHILIPINES, to include a sheepskin not worth the paper its printed on and RESUME'S SHOULD BE VIEWED WITH EXTREME SKEPTICISM.
