 You must be very slow to only do 40 poles. I have been doing pole work for 30 years. I know just what they want. If you have some one with you and one does the pole sticking and do the GPS, the other writing things down, you can do 100 plus pole a day easy. This is a fact. And why would you do your paper in the motel. Do it as you go.  It is simple. Use a cheat sheet with all the figures and numbers on it and look to see where your hieght will be. And you do have to get up and out in the field and work till dark. Then you can make some money.
