Adding Digital to Analog system

Hello All,
I have been doing a ton of research on upgrading our small 200 sub system to some digital capabilities.  I understand from the HD point of view it requires set top boxes with encoding (due to licensing)

We have some good receivers with ASI output however we aren't using ASI or Gig E out.  (I am a network engineer and ethernet would be great but another question).  I just picked up some Cisco D9477's that perform ASI->QAM modulation.  I can get them into standalone mode but will probably need some help with "mapping".  As a starter what channels or companies are the easiest to set up with multi decrypters?  ESPN? Turner?  If we use a D9850 for Turner can I grab multiple channels off of the ASI, feed them into the D9477 and drop them out qam on digital channels?

Is there a way to daisy chain ASI's or put them together?  The D9477 has 2 ASI inputs, and 4 RF outputs, so if I can get 6 channels on an ASI, or mux a couple of ASI's (loopback/cascade??) I can pump out a ton of channels.  Theoretically I should be able to put at least 6 SD channels per rf out correct?

Do HD and SD feeds come out of the same ASI?  Does each need to be auth'd with the provider or?  Once it's auth'd is it clear channel to us?  Definitely a newbie with this.

Thanks!
