I'm not sure where you get your information but contrary to what you believe,THE FLAG IS NOT RESERVED FOR THE ARMED SERVICES!! The flag is a symbol that represents the United States of America and ALL of it's citizens. Some presidents and people of leadership have declared some civilians as national treasures for their unrivaled talents and contributions. So while we honor and respect our military families,they don't have a monopoly on OUR flag and it's use. You don't join the military for individual acclaim,you join to serve as a team. Every life lost won't get an individual national ceremony because it's not practical,but you will be respected and honored by your country for your sacrifice for our TEAM. I would think someone who was noble enough to serve our country would have a little more class than the title of this rant indicates. God bless you and your perfect mistake free family,which i'm sure has never seen drug or alcohol use. Must be nice.
