My Dad was a 30 year Career Marine. He served in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He earned a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. When he came home they had to keep us all behind a fence as they got off the plane because of the protesters! When he died at the age of 88, he was buried in the local veterans cemetery. He did have a military funeral with the flag draped casket and the 21 gun salute. There was still no parade and not one flag was lowered.... It bothers me that someone would think that he didn't deserve it but she did!
