You are right, John was at his best when he would sing "my heart will go on" and ask the audience "who was from out of town?" outside a Navy base in Japan, many Americans would raise their hands, then he would walk through the audience with mike in hand like Don Ho and tell people to "try the veal" and inform them he would be in town all week and where they could catch the rest of his performances, then there were the groupies who would swoon and beg "kiss me where it smells funny" the morning after John would show up to work and tell us stories of how he would take young but legal Japanese woman and give them a firm but loving kiss on the forehead....
