The road expenses are what got me off the traveling company gig,..............At the time I was single.............shared an apartment in the D.C. area and enjoyed the prevailing wage while living in the poshly appointed bachelor pad........But when the show went on the road no amount of searching for cheap rooms and cutting costs on food made up the difference............It was a break even deal for me .........in the seventies........... while making around twenty bucks an hour + ample overtime. And I was disappointed that when I applied for unemployment benefits the company stated that they paid the minimum required wage......all the other money was to go towards lodging while traveling. We parted friends but we did go separate ways because of the road expenses...........Joe
