You will need a SDA-5500 (headend unit) at the very least to sweep using your SDA5000.
The 5500 is designed for use as a forward/return sweep transceiver. It can also be used as a standalone forward sweep transmitter for multiple users, and faster sweep. The SDA-5510 is a return sweep only transceiver. Used in conjunction with a 5500, the 5510 will allow up to 8 users to sweep the return path simultaneously.
If you are doing sweep by yourself, and are trying to save money, but want to get your plant squared away, then just buy a 5500. Plumb insertion points for the sweep transceiver in each of your hubsites for easy install & removal. You will need to buy a diplexer for each hub insertion.
