Not familiar with that Trilithic meter, but here are some general instructions.
It works just like the forward. Start at the node.
Use a raw sweep to set the tilt on the reverse spectrum.
Send a carrier from the node to the headend at designed return levels (-20 test point+level, we use 17, for a total of 37dB), pad to achieve level the Headend wants to see.
Take a reverse referance.
Go to first amp, from port 4 (main out/reverse in), EQ to match the node sweep referance, pad the output to match the node sweep referance. ALL Gainmakers have the same return on this port, there is not a differance in levels between a HGD, LGD, UBT or a BT
When padding the Gainmaker return, match the reverse input pad to any plugin DC 's you might have, ie: for a DC-8 one input pad will be an 8 and the other will be a 3. If you have to document the activation it will be reflected in the sweep pictures. If you have to explain it to someone as to why, it is on page 3-45 of the Gainmaker Installation and Operation Guide
Check EOL's to make sure a raw sweep picture is flat and at the designed level.
Move on to next amp. Repeat.
A piece of advice, if this is not a new system and you are turning on return for the first time you should do ingress first. It will save you a lot of grief in the long run.
