your supposed to set up an llc and that voids you from workers comp unless you have employee's and a way around that if you had an employee is to make him part owner of your company.I have  friend that contracts for a carpet company and he did that with his helper. Of course if one day you fall off that ladder and get hurt you are pretty much screwed.
