Depends,well somewhat, if you are an employee and he was a subbordinate then they can't charge you. However if you are a contractor and he was one of your subs or employee then you are pretty much screwed. As a contractor with employees or subs you take on the "parental" role, you are responible for everything your guys do. No need to gripe about it, you agreed to that as soon as you became a contractor, if he was a sub of yours you should have a retainer on him just for this so you can pay for lost, missing or stolen equipment.
