The problem is if you don't do it, some one will and usually for less. There are too many people taking a piece of the pie. Contractors hire subs that hire techs on 1099 that hire a buddy and pay them off the books. The guy doing the actual work gets just the crumbs, not even enough for a mouse. You tell your boss you need more money but that doesn't phase him, just says he will get someone else that will do it for your wages. Hard to do anything without a union presence.
