If you are wanting to upgrade that meter to DOCSIS 3.0 I'm pretty sure it is not possible. I'm not 100% sure but you can try contacting www.comsonics.com they do all our meter upgrades and repairs. I couldn't find any official Acterna/JDSU documentation for the 1000b but I did find http://www.jdsu.com/ProductLiterature/DSAM_Family_Brochure.pdf and it shows the earliest DSAM model that can be upgraded to DOCSIS 3.0 is the DSAM 2000. I use a DSAM 6000 that does not have the software upgrade yet and I went into the channel plan and set the other channels we use on the downstream to docsis and I run a return test on each of the individual channels.Also this link http://catvsupport.com has some interesting DSAM info thats not easy to find on the official JDSU site.
