A difference between sealed and expunged. If it is expunged a notice is sent to federal government to destroy all records. Sealed is still there and can be seen by law enforcement and courts but not by the public. An example is the CORI check in Massachusetts used to show if you had a sealed record law was then changed so it cannot be seen. Of course by tomorrow they may have another law chaning it all over again.
