If you are an employee, there's not much you can demand for and control.

If you are a true Independent Contractor, you can get together with other Businesses (Fellow Contractors providing installation services for  the same company/client) and start billing them for your professional services climbing up those poles to run their cable. They are your client. Don't let them set the prices for your services. Charge more as a business for cold winter installs!


Dammit! You people have the power in your hands but are not getting together and using it. Every man and drunk for himself and these MSO's are loving it. You are absorbing all the tax liabilities and costs related to winter operations. They control you and profit from you on your dime and no one in here does anything to inform the IRS cause they are scared of getting fired. It's a sad vicious cycle catch 22.
