Re: labor practices

I read your comment above and it makes me laugh.  Yes i think we all know the nature of the business is going employee base.  6 Days a week = close to $10,000 a year.  Now lets see how much the IRS takes since you classfied yourself as a employee. Oh yeah dont forget about unemployment and state and local taxes.  Know since your down to about $5000.00 and we havent seen how much the DOL or Lawyer wants im sure that amount will shrink even more.  Also since you have been classfied incorrectly you better hope you have been paying your taxes since your name and ssn has been sent to the IRS since your are claiming you are a employee and have not been paying employee taxes.  Also you better enjoy employee life at $30,000 to $45,000 a year. Im sure the company you just went after for this, damn sure won't use you again as a Contractor. Switching to employee from Contractor proable just cost you about an additional $20,000 to $30,000 a year. I have been on both sides of the fence and was caught up (not by choice) in a overtime lawsuit againist the company I was working for. I was an employee at the time and then they started really crunching the hours down and our bring him each week dropped by almost $300.00 a week.  I believe if i put in a honest days work, then i should recieve a honest days pay.  So i went back to being a Contractor.  If you want a hourly job with no overtime and off every weekend then go get an hourly rate job and get out of the cable business.
