I totally agree with both these guys. I have Corning, AFL, ect splicers and if I try to use cheap electrodes then they start acting weird. Also like Spectrum said it may be a "good" splice but with the temperature cycling could cause them to break. I had it happen to me on time in Detroit in the middle of the winter.
