Correcting the upstream inverted tilt at the first active is a great idea to suppress low end impulse, but that all depends on how the headend upstream combining is configured, and where in the upstream link that the sampling lead for the return sweep is connected. Definitely gets you flat to the sweep unit, but not necessarily to the CMTS.
