I misread the post, my mistake. I thought the question was winterizing your rig at night. Put the discharge hose in the water fill? Why not just turn the valve open on your water circulating system? Circulating water won't freeze in the time you need to do the bore, and if it does, you probably shouldn't be working.
 Rock Salt? Don't you think, that might shorten the life on your mud system?
