each loop in a service loop cuts up to 1.3 db per loop on the lower channels. When they are zipped stripped to each other tightly you get the highest db loss per loop. Since most plants have so much issue with voltage and l.e.'s and amps and agc circuits, they need those extra 2 or 3 dbs back, lol.
