They are getting the jobs because they will work for less money, not because they do a better job.
Today, the cable world is flooded with people I wouldn't trust to wash my car, let alone work on my cable system.
It's no wonder cable is losing customers to satellite like a river rushing through a busted dam. They won't pay the best technicians a reasonable rate to insure the best results. They see no profit in maintenance. They'd rather spend all of their money in sales and advertising, and spend as little as possible on upkeep.
Good luck with that mentality.
