Re: low usnr on same upstream carrier


the carrier at 38mhz is 3.2mhz wide....cascades vary but node plus 5 to node plus 9 is the norm.....we're talking about 300+ nodes with all kinds of different amps depending on the location.  This is happening with GI gear, SA gear, Motorola gear, Gainmaker gear.   Also, 4 or 5 different brands of nodes.  I really think this is something in the headend or beyond, though I'm not headend guy just a lowly line tech trying to improve numbers.
