directv "mom and pop"?

 Hi, i live in new orleans and i resigned from Directv yesterday. I was an "in-house" tech for two years and got tired of all the B.S., mismanagement, and 25$ service calls! How can I get my own sales and do my own installs? I always hear about the "mom and pop" operations and was wondering how to get into it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
