I very well remember .412 I also remember that if you used a 18vt dewalt and didn't grip the cable real tight when you cored it, that crap would spin up like a pretzel, the only problem with that was it was always 30 or 40 feet away from the pole where the lashing wire was looser, but I remember the nut and farrells
along with pressure taps, I can't remember how many times having a lasher jump off of the strand in the middle of an old oak tree and cut your way in to get to the lasher and find a old single port pressure tap, Can you say Bad Span..

Hell I worked a Mediacom upgrade in Cordel,Ga. and it was a 875mh upgrade and the dumb asses told us to splice the .412 they had cases of PPC.412 pin connectors and plenty of kisses, .625 to .412 2 or 3 taps then .412 to .625, needless to say they didn't pass proof & failed on the flyover
the Sr. Tech wanted to shut the system down, but the FCC would not give him a firm date of when the flyover was going to happen
That system you could watch HBO from the Space Station.
