I was just trying help an old dawg out with a answer to his $50,000.00 question but what do I know!
I myself think that using a cheapo Home Depot 3/4" pvc pipe cutter and score the alum. center tube then break it will prevent the beveling of the tube
that is how I cored the old fuse disc cable (coax) because if you used a .500 or .750 corning tool on it, it would swell the sheath and you beat the fuc& out of your knuckles with your 9's getting the backing nut of the pin connector on it.
Just like I use to use the good old torch & boot string method to clean my center conducter until I met Mr. QR Cable (Quantum Reach) that sheath is almost as thin as aluminum foil and almost any heat on that stuff melted the sheath and you dare not try to hammer the backing nut on that stuff, you was either using an extention or in the case of New Build you were buying a new span or two, that's why you could tie that shit in a Knot without it kinking
But every trade has it's own tricks, some good and allot not so good, but in the meantime I will just Drink Beer
