I agree. A group of us , in NJ, NY,PA & CT , are pushing to have a bill that would level the playing field for independant contractors. As it stands right now if you are brought on a project and released from the project through no fault of your own the company suffers no financial hardship, you, as the contractor, lose out on contracts you could have bid or requested as well as loss of income. The flipside of the coin is if you get a better project and decide to leave the project the company CAN fine you a performance penalty ranging from a few hundred to several thousand dollars per day. What we are asking this bill to do is to hold companies to the same penalties as we, the independant contractors, are held to. Any thoughts on this?
