As far as I know there is no way to get FTA receivers to get Dish Network or Directv programing. They both have the encryption that has not been cracked. Has been that way the last couple of years.
You can get lots of channels FTA, but it is not with standard Dish or Directv dishes or LNB's. They are also mostly foriegn or religious channels.
If you want regular channels like ESPN, Discovery, History you are gonna have to pay.
