To add to this, you may need an amplifier placed close to ant. I have been on an OTA ant. for about 10 years, have an ant. with a built in amp mounted as high as I can get away with and another amp down where the cable comes into the house for grounding. The coax from the ant. is then split into the house with the same equipment the cable co. left in the d-marc. Simple rules to follow, place ant. as high as possible and guy if necessary, ground the coax to reduce or prevent a lightning strike from damaging your electronics and allow any stray voltage from the equipment a path to get out. My father in-law pulls channels from 100 miles out, but he is on the side of a mountain and has line of site to the transmission tower.
