Ya know...Directv has great technical training resources.
The SBCA Cert I got was crap. It was $200.00. The Pizza was ok & I was able to write off the motel with pool & movie in a small DE town. But the training materials I took away were run off in a library and I already knew from experience ALL.
AND I knew most of the guys in the room had more years of CATV and sats than me. We were all told that if we wanted to continue doing installations we would pay and get certified.
As it ended none of those men is doing installations today....all had to sue sub companies while Directv did not involve itself in contractor relations even though they had a contractor relations office. So, excluding me because I only had about eight years installation experience at the time...really experienced guys just walked away.
Let them train new guys every month!
