Hopefully its to tell them thanks but no thanks! If you could take all the good people that have rolled through that place, took away the 100's of warm bodies they hire every day, you would have some of the best cable people there are. The good guys, usually, are determined to succeed, and hang until they are hollow! The warm bodies get the same song and dance that they are learning a Great Career.. and hang in there. After a month or so.. the charge backs, six and seven day weeks, they get desperate and wind up with too many skeletons in the closet and have to go! Back to the good guys.. They usually find something better.
MOST, of the big money, along for the ride, has happened. FTS is a smart company, one of the smartest. They know the odds and how to play the business. Remember, every penny you make is their business plan. When you do not meet the goal, there are 10 people wanting your truck.
An old dogs advice, If your new to this business, there is no easy money. If you want to learn the business and find your pot of gold..that is what you are very good at..go inhouse first and get the hard core, bare bones focus and education on the way the business runs. Once you have the determination and self trust to be better than what is out there in any skill, and be able to walk the walk, then get in to contracting.
Fiber is the way, in my opinion. Cable companies are not too long from being fiber companies. A lot of people think fiber splicing is all there is in fiber. Thats like saying all cable is, is cutting a good fitting. There is work going to be happening all around us. Its just finding a nich we can do.
