Why don't you go along with one of your sweep contractors for a few days...pay him a little extra to show you the basics. Ofcourse sweeping correctly takes more than learning how to setup and use the equipment. You have to learn and understand what you're seeing on the screen as far as levels and response. After you learn that, you have to know what to do about it... that is proper balancing, repairing and correcting what you're seeing. Troubleshooting is a huge part of sweeping. It takes alot of experience to see it all, but you have to start somewhere. You better learn soon.... sweep is becoming a lost art with fiber and wireless technology replacing coax!
