All good points, and I'll give you my views and see what you think. First of all you talk about guerrilla warfare. You forget this army cannot be killed. Death does not exist to them. So I guess you really can't call it a war but more of a cleansing. Second. God does not need an army nor does he have one in the way we think of an army. He chooses to delegate His authority and power ( you can see that in His creation, He's vary organized) to others who carry out his will. By delegating his power to the ones that love Him He shows his love. Gods character is full of love and overflowing with passion to give and to share all He has and enjoys. And He only asks 1 thing of us. That's where free will comes in.
PS. As far as God just standing by while we suffer thats a whole new subject, but I will say that a persons flesh is temporary but his soul lasts forever.
