That is one of the benefits of being an employee. They can fire you but they have to pay you.
Then there are attempts to convert hourly rates to points and piece work; not legal in most states.
And, yes, in two instances entities who were offering an hourly rate with a time clock and weekly payroll bounced checks. In both those instances the employees got paid eventually.
All experiences are local and personal. There must be positive experiences out there somewhere. I just don't know any myself.
