If what you NEED is a 20/20 then that's what you should buy. If you've been doing the job with the smaller machines, the 1220 will do the job, but it may not do a job if for some reason you have different terrain. In PA, we did a job . .it was all rock . . the smallest machine on the job was a 2020, and they still had to bring in rock saws to take care of alot of areas . . you get my drift.
I know 2 fantastic drill guys that have DW2020's, they do all the work on them, maintenence and repairs, and they run well for them. If you have to pay someone to work on any of your equipment its expensive. I worked for an U/G contractor who had nothing but Vermeer . . I was on a first name basis with the Vermeer parts supplier . . the operator was also an employee who didn't give ashit about the machine and if he tore it up it meant he could stay at the hotel bar instead of going to work!!
