No the remake was not the Duke's movie. I thought it was OK but glad I waited for PPV to see it.
They said in all the pre-movie press that they were not trying to remake the classic. They followed
the book more than the John Wayne version. I'm kind of glad they didn't try to remake the old one.
You got to watch it and not compare the two, it's hard to do, I found myself waiting for some of the
classic moments from the first that never came. That's how the movie lets you down.
