I have never been a big rub user. I typically use charcoal and hickory wood chunks soaked in water. I did use a rub on two of them from Holland Grill, Carolina Seasoning Mix. The ones with aluminum foil under them.  Since using that rub for the first time I think it has changed my mind on using rubs. It was very, very tasty.
