Goodsky, Sometimes childish behavior and laughter go hand in hand, it's all in how one interprets what was said, seen or heard.
Kind of like how people interpret the bible and other religious books differently. After all haven't you and others said that man has or was given freewill? Isn't it this freewill that allows for the different interpretations of just about everything?
As far as Buddhism being my source of moral obligation it is more of a guide. Because of freewill I have a choice of weather I follow it or not. Just as you have with the bible. Also because of my background I would say I live my life by my own moral compass. Buddhism just happens to voice a lot of what I think. After all Buddha himself said he was just a man/teacher, and even he himself said he was not perfect.
Do I try to follow the teachings of Buddha? Yes.
Do I always? No.
I don't think there is a person here that can honestly say that they live 100% of their life 100% of the time by what is written in their religious books.
Once you become obligated to something don't you loose your right to choose?
If you are obligated don't you loose your freewill?
If you loose your freewill aren't you no more than a slave?
If you are a slave than you are being forced into doing, thinking, or whatever against your will.
Isn't this the will you and others here say is given by God?
Why would God give you something just to take it away in order to serve him?
So how can any religion/god be a obligation? Moral or otherwise.
Shouldn't religion/god come from ones heart/soul naturally?
Not because your are under obligation.
