Would use the .045 with it. Like I said, could not hang anything big with it, and it was not on my truck anyways. We used the hanging lasher trick as well. Remember the lead man getting mad because you had to leave a man there to replace the wire. After explaining you had to do the same with the truck that had a pre-lasher, he just walked away.
When I first started on the line crew, there was a pre-lash trailer that was set up with a g lasher. Have not seen one of those in years.
