Nothing like working on a project where the client knows they want improvement, but they can't quantify what they want. That's a really sad state of affairs for the client. At least you have a project to work on! You might run some formulas past the person/people who make the decisions, now that you know what the formulas are/mean. Again, the tighter or stricter the formula the more it will cost to get the plant within spec. If there's time, you might suggest doing some testing: establish one formula and do one or two test nodes with it. Document number of modules, boards, connectors, fittings, etc. replaced. Then change the formula and do another one or two test nodes. Again, document what you found. Provide the data and see what the MSO wants to do. Good luck!
